Once developed, your website is an extension of your
existing business.
It is your opportunity to introduce your company and offer your services.
The design isn't only what is seen, it is the viewer's perception
of your company as they navigate your website. When laying out the design
of your website, it must be clearly understood what its primary function
is. Each decision must be based upon how to best present that primary
function.
We have years of experience working closely with clients
to establish an effective online presence. Sometimes this is developed
in conjunction with existing marketing material, sometimes with nothing.
However, one thing remains consistent with every project; the customer's
bottom line of attaining their goals. Once the goal is defined, we begin
to develop. After the site is developed, we continue to work with a client
to keep the site content current and continually reflect the focus of
the client.
A website is never finished. In many regards you don't
want it to be. That would mean nothing worth mentioning changes in your
business (no new information to share, no new products/services, no specials,
etc). A website is intended to be updated. Keeping information current
and relevant goes a long way in influencing the perception of your viewer.
Some of our clients do all their own maintenance. Some do
none. The majority lie somewhere in between; they perform as much maintenance
as they are comfortable with and utilize us to complete the balance.
Our point is: The content of your website needs to remain current and
informative. No matter who does it, this needs to be addressed.
Once a site is completed, it is placed on a web server.
In most simplistic terms, a web server is a computer that is constantly
connected to the Internet. It is this constant connection that makes your
website display when somebody visits it. Providing this service is called
hosting.
Normally, one web server will host many websites. This helps
keep the cost of this service down.
GSWS is in a uniquely beneficial position, we possess our own web servers.
This gives us absolute control of both the hardware and security of our
systems. This provides us complete control over the development environment.
In summary, this means we can do what we want, how we want, and when we
want to.
